Should Shedeur Sanders enter the 2024 NFL draft?

It has been a pleasant surprise to watch the upstart Colorado Buffaloes be the talk of the football world for a few months, and even though that has fallen back to reality as of late with a 4-7 record on the season quarterback Shedeur Sanders is still proving to be one of the best quarterbacks in the country.

There has been a lot of talk on whether Sanders will enter the 2024 NFL draft class or not, cementing himself as a first-round pick in a top-heavy quarterback class. With Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix likely entering the class it could be considered poor timing should Sanders want to go in the top ten of the draft.

While it’s fair to say Sanders will want to stick around in college for his father and head coach Deion Sanders there are also some realities that must be addressed in the immediate future. Shedeur Sanders plays behind one of the worst offensive lines in college and is constantly getting hit and tossed around, to be frank, it’s a miracle he has been able to showcase his talent in the way he has so far given the lack of production there and his surrounding weapons.

There is so much at risk should Sanders opt to stay in Colorado and it could be a legitimately career-altering movie. It’s unlikely Colorado will be able to turn the offensive line around in a single season and the top weapons in the country are not going to come to Boulder anytime soon. Sanders should seriously consider flexing the talent showcase he put on this year and enter the 2024 draft as one of the premier prospects and avoid a potentially career-altering injury of production change should he stay with the Buffaloes.
