Should Redskins jump back in Antonio Brown sweepstakes after failed Bills trade?

The Washington Redskins still have a chance at Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown — should they want him.

Brown seemed destined to be a member of the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night when a report broke saying the Steelers and Bills were finalizing a deal.

That went down in flames.

Even the Bills admitted the talks happened and fizzled out.

But keep in mind the Redskins were reportedly one of the teams making a major push for Brown. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport again mentioned them during the Bills-Brown chaos:

The question now becomes whether the Redskins should get back in on the action. The same rules as before apply — Washington needs serious help at wideout to open up the offense and Case Keenum or a rookie passer could use a reliable target, to say the least.

But there is a new element in here now too — Brown’s willingness to go somewhere. He and his representatives clearly weren’t happy about Buffalo and flexed their leverage over the situation.

Will Brown like the idea of the Redskins?

Hard to say, as he’s leaving a contender with a future Hall of Famer at quarterback. The Redskins don’t have either of those things right now as far as we know.

At the least, the Redskins should probably peek their head back in and see if Brown would entertain the idea. If he would, coughing up the assets to make a deal happen would make some sense.
