Should Rangers go all out for Connor Goldson or is it time to look to the future without him? Monday Jury

This midweek marks the end of the first set of Premiership games. Who has been the standout player?

Keith Jackson : The impact Kyogo Furuhashi has made in such a short space of time at Celtic has been nothing short of sensational. If he keeps this form up for the rest of the season he’ll smash the Player of the Year awards.

Andy Newport : Craig Gordon has had a strong start to the season but for me Kyogo has been the pick of the bunch so far.

Fraser Wilson : Kyogo is the obvious choice but I reckon the impact Jota has made just off the striker in terms of goals and assists and has been every bit as impressive. And what about that pass against Ferencvaros?

Should Rangers push the boat out to keep Connor Goldson or is it time to look for his replacement?

Keith Jackson : It’s getting hard to see this one being resolved. Goldson has been a rock
for Rangers but the longer the contractual stand-off continues the more likely it seems he’ll be on his way. He won’t be short of offers from elsewhere.

Andy Newport : If he was going to sign I can’t work out why he wouldn’t have done it by now. Finding a capable replacement mid-season is a tough ask so I reckon he will see out his contract and bid farewell to Gers in the summer.

Fraser Wilson : It’ll be interesting to see what happens in January if there is still no deal struck. Rangers do their business early and are likely to have made the best offer they think the defender is worth so it’s beginning to look ominous.

Aberdeen ended an 11-week wait for a win on Saturday. Have they got a chance of getting a result at Ibrox during the week?

Keith Jackson : Probably not. It’s baby steps for Stephen Glass right now and Saturday’s win has given him some much needed breathing space. But there’s little evidence to suggest his team is ready to take anything from the home of the champions.

Andy Newport : I still think that will be a tough ask. While it was a welcome win for Glass on Saturday, Hibs have hit a slump after losing to Gers themselves and Steven Gerrard’s men are showing signs they are getting back up to speed.

Fraser Wilson : I can’t see it. The way the Dons collapsed in the 5-0 drubbing at Ibrox in May will still be giving the Red Army nightmares. A very important win against Hibs but their defence is still looking shaky.

Three defeats in a row and Celtic up next. What's gone wrong at Hibs?

Keith Jackson : There’s no reason to start pressing panic buttons at Easter Road. Jack Ross is building something for the long term. Two bad results on the trot will prove to be nothing more than a minor bump in the road. Expect them to give Celtic a proper ding-dong on Wednesday.

Andy Newport : Confidence has dropped. As much as they were getting results early on this season, they were not playing great and once their unbeaten run went it seems their spirits took a nosedive too.

Fraser Wilson : Hibs have so much talent but when they are off the boil then they can be dreadful, as if they have no minimum level. They don’t stick in a rut for long though and I fancy Ross’ side to take something from Celtic in midweek.
