At this point in time, almost everyone knows who Joe Rogan is.
With his popular podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience” continuing to top the charts on a weekly basis, the longtime UFC commentator has seemingly transcended the sport and his comedy routines.
Now a petition has been started to get Joe Rogan on the national stage – the debate stage, that is.
With more than 120,000 signatures (and counting), the Change.org petition was created as an effort to propel Rogan into a moderator slot for the 2020 U.S. presidential debates. The signature goal set by petition creator Ashton Stowell was 150,000.
The petition states three main reasons Rogan should host the 2020 presidential debates:
“1. Joe Rogan is a widely respected host who has hosted interviews with politicians, economists, scientists, and other popular figures, who come from various walks of life.
2. Joe Rogan has experience with interviewing both progressive and conservative thinkers. Figures such as Andrew Yang (D), Tulsi Gabbard (D), Kyle Kulinski (D), Gary Johnson (L), Benjamin Shapiro (R), and Candace Owens (R), have all appeared on “The Joe Rogan Experience” program.
3. Joe Rogan has an audience containing viewers from all areas of the political spectrum. Joe Rogan is not registered under any political party and is well-known for having civil, productive, and interesting, conversations about political issues without partisan bias.”
Frequently, Rogan has walked the line between political parties and has openly supported policies on both sides of the aisle. Rogan has been described as a Libertarian in the past and even appeared on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno alongside former Congressman Ron Paul in December 2011.
More recently, Rogan declared himself a Democrat on a July episode of JRE with conservative figure Andy Ngo. In 2018, Rogan called for tighter gun laws and more leniency with immigration laws.
As the petition states, Rogan’s guest list has featured major political guests from all angles, including three 2020 presidential candidates: Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii; Democratic businessman Andrew Yang; and, most recently, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.
