Should I throw a clothes party?

Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it's up to you to help him or her out – a selection of the best answers will appear in next Saturday's paper.

This week's question

I want to find a new home for some £100 dresses I've worn twice, but won't wear again. I don't want the eBay hassle, so am thinking of inviting friends to a clothes party. We could all sell, or just swap, our unwanted clothes. Will it work? Any advice on how to make it a success?
