'Should have taken £50m!' - Chelsea fans make Jules Kounde point after what happened for France

Chelsea transfer target Jules Kounde was back in action tonight for France - the first match since his failed summer switch to Stamford Bridge.

Kounde, 22, failed to get his desired move to Chelsea due to Monchi's demands of the full release clause of £68million having to be paid out, despite reportedly verbally agreeing on a £42m fee with Marina Granovskaia.

The French star was back in action tonight (Wednesday) and appeared to take out his frustrations in Les Bleus' World Cup qualifying game against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the 51st minute of the contest, the Blues target committed a rash challenge on Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac.

Initially, a yellow card was shown but after a quick VAR check, that was quickly overturned and a red card was brandished instead.

Here's how a selection of Chelsea fans reacted to the incident.

@panarules joked: 'Chelsea has destroyed Kounde. emotional instability edey cause these things.'

@CFC_Bando stated: 'He's just furious Sevilla didn’t let him go.'

@jaylen_kay tweeted: 'My man's frustrated that he didn't get to join us.'

@VictorK02645225 highlighted: 'The failed transfer to Chelsea is affecting him psychologically.'

@ChelseaFCBlogs_ mocked: 'Should’ve taken the 50 million @SevillaFC_ENG.'

The other key France talking point ahead of the game was that Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante had withdrawn from Didier Deschamps's side after suffering what looked to be a bad ankle injury against Liverpool.

Thomas Tuchel explained the extent of the injury in the post-match press conference.

He said: "He is injured. He missed the Arsenal game because of some pain in the ankle and some inflammation, but it was nothing serious obviously because he was back in training and he started today.

"In winning the ball in this situation I think the opponent fell on his ankle and he twisted it again and he had immediately the same pain he had before the Arsenal game and he was lacking force to accelerate and we had to take him off."
