It was a night of real drama at Anfield as Liverpool and Arsenal battled it out for a place in the Carabao Cup quarter finals.
The two sides played out a stunning 5-5 draw with Jurgen Klopp's side squeezing through on penalties.
But while the drama should have been left behind at last night's game, it seems that there could be another storm brewing.
Jurgen Klopp revealed after the game they may considering withdrawing from the competition unless the EFL can accommodate the fixture around their hectic December schedule, which includes a trip to Qatar for the Club World Cup.
He said: “If they don't find an appropriate place for us, not 3am on Christmas Day, then we don't play it.
“They have to make that decision. You have to think about these things.
“If you have a fixture list where one team cannot be part of all the games, then you have to think about the fixture list.
“Hopefully it starts now. I really think that's fair, and this problem is obvious now. We will not be the victim of this problem.
“We play tonight, we wanted to win it, we did that, and if they don't find a proper date for us, then we cannot play the next round and whoever is our opponent will go through.
“Or Arsenal play them.”
If Liverpool did withdraw, it's likely that Aston Villa would be handed a bye into the semi-finals of the competition, although some have suggested that Arsenal should be awarded Liverpool's spot in the quarter finals.
While fans of the Gunners all-but accept that their Carabao Cup dream is over for another season, the supporters of Aston Villa are far from happy that the tie could be moved to benefit their opposition.
Here's what they've had to say on social media.
