Should fireworks be banned from public sale?

Bonfire night is just weeks away, meaning the nights of continuous bangs have already begun.

People can buy fireworks from registered sellers for private use between October 15 to November 10; Boxing Day to New Year's Eve; and the three days before Diwali and Chinese New Year. Fireworks must not be set off between the hours of 11pm and 7am unless it is Bonfire Night, New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year.

Although fireworks are only available to buy for a short space of time, the weeks leading up to national celebrations can involve continuous bangs from people setting them off early.
