What is more scary about the video is that it was so close to being a tragedy. One such person, who happened to be in the line of the fast moving car, was lucky to escape without getting injured. That reaction of one second could have helped to avoid much more serious result. The clip did not simply go viral as it was spreading across platforms. It sparked a frenzy of outrage, worry and somber discourse concerning the role of influencers in real time who film risky acts.

As pressure mounted, Shank Comics addressed the situation. He clarified that the incident happened five months ago and expressed regret over his actions. He also claimed the clip’s recent circulation was part of a targeted campaign against him. Despite the explanation, the damage to public perception had already been done.
The platform itself did not stay silent. Twitch reinforced its stance, stating, "Twitch’s Community Guidelines strictly prohibit dangerous or distracted driving. For creators, this includes removing your eyes from the road to interact with your stream or violating local traffic laws. When our safety teams identify violations of these rules, they take swift and appropriate enforcement action."
