Shotts mum is this week's Say It With Flowers recipient

By Jean Ward

First-time mum Joanne Lavery, 25, is the delighted recipient of this week's Say It With Flowers award.

Joanne gave birth to her baby son, Jayden Charlie Scott, during the height of the pandemic in January, but despite this she has been a tower of strength for her best friend Lauren Thomson.

Lauren told Lanarkshire Live: “Joanne gave birth when the restrictions were really difficult, but despite being a first-time mum, she took it on like a champ and came through it all stronger, even though she missed out on a lot of things a first time mum would get to experience.

“Despite this, her beautiful baby boy is now six months old and smashing through his milestones, which is all down to Joanne and her partner Mark.

“She is such a caring person and a terrific mother. Joanne worked in a hotel doing housekeeping but lost her job during the pandemic.

“Joanne is a great friend. She has always been there for me whenever I have needed her and we have been friends since childhood.”

And when Lauren told us about Joanne, we were delighted to help, surprising her with this beautiful floral arrangement, courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains.

“I think she will be surprised, but delighted to receive these flowers,” added Lauren.

And a delighted Joanne told us: “I’d like to say thank you so much to Lauren for being a great support, and to the -Wishaw Press for nominating me and Pixies Petals for the lovely flowers.”
