Shotts boss John McKeown faces another selection headache for their West of Scotland League Conference A clash with Glasgow Uni, but this time he’s delighted.
McKeown was missing eight players for their home game against Maybole, but won 4-0 with a Danny Burns double and strikes by Craig Hastings and Josh Cameron.
Several of the missing stars will be back for this weekend’s Hannah Park clash, but McKeown says they may need to fight for their place.
He said: “We’ll have the majority of the boys back, there will only be a couple missing, but the boys who played on Saturday will be looking to keep their place again.
“It’s a bit of a selection headache, but it’s a good one to have – it’s better than losing and trying to find the right formula.”
McKeown added: “It was great to get such a good result.
“We missed quite a lot of chances on Saturday; uncharacteristically, Danny Burns missed a few one-on-ones – but he also ended up with a double, so I’ll not be too hard on him!
“The league form is great, we can only keep putting points on the board and asking questions of the ones round about us.
“I’ve not seen much of Glasgow Uni, but they’re up and down with their results, so we just need to make sure we’re on our ‘A’ game, and it’s good to be at home again.”
