Shots fired in Manchester street during fight between three men

Gunshots were fired during a fight between three men on a street in Gorton.

Police were called to Jetson Street at around 12.15am this morning (Wednesday) to reports of a man with a gun.

Three men had been fighting and shots were fired, the force said.

All three of the men fled the scene.

No injuries have been reported from the incident.

An investigation is underway and a cordon is in place on Jetson Street near the junction with Kenyon Street.

Pictures show several police vehicles stationed at the scene and forensic officers carrying out investigation work on the street.

Detectives have also been conducting door-to-door enquiries.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Police were called around 12.15am today (Wednesday 23 June 2021) to a report of a male with a gun on Jetson Street, Manchester.

"Officers attended and enquires established three males had been involved in a fight and a firearm had been discharged.

"All three males fled the scene prior to police arrival and no injuries have been reported.

"Enquiries are ongoing and a scene remains in place.

"Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 1146 or 101 quoting incident 48 of 23/06/21. Details can also be passed via our online live web chat function at www.gmp.police.uk.

"Alternatively, details can be passed on anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
