Shots fired at property in Newtownards in "reckless attack"

Shots have been fired at a property in Newtownards in what the PSNI has described as a "reckless attack".

The incident happened in the Lisbane Drive area of the Co Down town just after midnight on July 15 and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A man who was inside the property at the time was uninjured in the attack.

Detective Inspector Nigel Snoddy said: "We received a report shortly after 12:10am that shots had been fired at the front of a property in Lisbane Drive, causing damage to a front window.

"Fortunately, the male occupant in the property at the time was not physically injured in what can only be described as a reckless attack, which could have had serious consequences.

"As we investigate who was involved in this gun attack and establish a motive, we are asking anyone who was in the area between 12:05am and 12:10am to call us on 101, quoting reference number 22 of 15/07/21.

"Alternatively, you can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org/ "
