Shots fired at Liverpool home in latest lockdown shooting

Police are investigating the latest shooting to have been carried out while Merseyside is on lockdown.

Forensics officers are examining the scene of an attack in which shots were fired at a house in Walton on Saturday night.

People were inside the property at the time, but no-one was injured.

Merseyside Police was made aware a home on Finborough Road had been shot at just before midnight.

The investigation into the attack continued this morning, with police maintaining a presence at the scene.

The shooting was the latest example of gun thugs recklessly flouting restrictions put in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus to put lives at risk.

Two homes and a car were damaged in shootings on the Beechwood estate, Wirral, on Good Friday, while men have been murdered in shootings in Southport and Litherland.

Two males were also shot during an incident in Toxteth last weekend.
