Shortlist announced for North East Charity Awards 2021

Charities, voluntary groups and supporters from around the region have been recognised with the publication of the shortlist for the North East Charity Awards.

The awards, now in their seventh year, will be hosted by comedian, writer and actress Helen Lederer and take place at Ramside Hall near Durham next month to highlight the region’s top charities, as well as fundraisers and leaders in the voluntary sector.

Last year Bright Futures – which works to raise self-esteem and confidence of young women in the region – was named North East Charity of the Year.

This year Family Help Darlington CIO, KEY Project and the Newcastle United Foundation will compete for the top prize while a new category – outstanding contribution to social change – will recognise the vital work North East charities, community groups and civil society organisations engage in to drive social change.
