A man was fatally struck by a vehicle Sunday on Interstate 57 in southwest suburban Markham.
The man, 57, was standing outside his vehicle about 12:50 a.m. on the southbound left shoulder near Kedzie Avenue when a vehicle in the middle lane lost control and hit him, Illinois State Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
The man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead about an hour later, officials said. He lived in Shorewood.
No further information was immediately available.
