Shore Road reopened in both directions following crash near school

A man had to be cut from his vehicle following a three-vehicle collision in Co Antrim.

Firefighters were called to the scene at the junction of Shore Road and Doagh Road, Newtownabbey at 1.30pm this afternoon.

Crews used cutting gear to rescue the casualty from the car and he was handed over to the care of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

Police had closed the road in both directions but it has since reopened.

It's understood no one has sustained any life-threatening injuries in the incident.

Meanwhile, on Westlink a collision after the Clifton Street onslip heading towards M2/M3 has been cleared and traffic is beginning to return to normal.
