Shopworker held at knifepoint by two thugs who robbed Barrhead store in 'terrifying ordeal'

A shopworker was held at knifepoint by two thugs who robbed items from a Barrhead store.

The 25-year-old was working in the Premier Store on Cross Arthurlie Street at around 9.25am this morning when the two men threatened him with a knife and stole items.

Police Scotland is now appealing for anyone with information about the attack to come forward.

Both suspects are described as being white, in their early 30s, approximately 5'10 in height.

One was wearing a blue jacket with white zip, black under armour trousers and grey Air max trainers.

The second was wearing a blue jumper with black hood, black adidas jogging bottoms with white stripes down both legs and black Nike trainers.

Constable Kirstie Black from Police Scotland said: “This has been a terrifying ordeal for the man involved. We are keen to hear from anyone who has any information or any dash cam footage from the area at the time, to contact us via 101 quoting incident number 1007 of 3 January 2021, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
