Chocolate
Chocolate, especially specialty German chocolate, comes highly recommended at Aldi.
“It’s a small luxury that you should be able to fit in at Aldi,” said Melanie Musson, a retail finance expert with Clearsurance.com. “Their chocolate bars are high-quality German chocolate, and they’re half the price or less than chocolate bars you can find at other grocers.”
For example, shoppers can get a Choceur milk chocolate bar for just $2.39.

Seasonal Produce
Musson said that Aldi is known for having the best prices on seasonal produce. Prices vary depending on regions, but she currently recommends Aldi’s strawberries.
“Not all the produce Aldi offers is always at a great price, but they often offer seasonal produce at about half the price of other stores,” Musson said.
Canned Goods
Whether it’s beans or diced tomatoes, Aldi offers a selection of canned goods for low prices. Musson recommended this for easy family meals on a budget.
Many of Aldi’s canned goods can be picked up for under $1, like green beans and corn, which are both just $0.85.
Rice
After analyzing consumer reviews for the past five years, Joanna Clark-Simpson, head of consumer research and marketing at PissedConsumer, highlighted rice as a high-value item that goes a long way for Aldi shoppers.
A 3-pound bag of long grain white rice is currently listed on the Aldi website for $2.19.
Bread
Bread is a versatile staple in many households, and Aldi provides the carb without breaking the wallet.
“Bread is another item shoppers noted because it’s budget-friendly compared to other stores, even though it can be hard to find in stock or sometimes arrives in poor condition in delivery orders,” Clark-Simpson said.
Many bread options from Aldi cost between $1 and $3, like the L’Oven Fresh white bread, which is $1.29.
Dairy
Clark-Simpson pointed out that dairy is an area where customers find deliciously good value at Aldi.
Kate Morgan explained in an EatingWell article that she found her ultimate, perfect yogurt, which has a “reasonable price tag,” at Aldi. The Simply Nature organic whole milk plain Greek yogurt costs just $5.45 at Aldi.
Pasta
Dry pastas are typically in the $1 to $2 range at Aldi. Food editor Patty Catalano of The Kitchn highlighted Aldi’s high-quality pasta and array of shapes.
She specifically called out the Priano bronze cut pasta. Shoppers can pick up many of these pastas, including the farfalle pasta, for just $2.15.
Olive Oil
This olive oil is good enough to finish up your next pasta dish. In the same article, Catalano vouched for the Premium Sicilian extra virgin olive oil, which is currently $11.55 for a 16.9-fluid-ounce bottle.
Salmon
It’s nutritious, delicious and affordable.
“In some parts of the world, different standards produce a high-quality fish, and such is the case with Aldi’s Norwegian Atlantic Salmon,” Morgan said in the EatingWell article.
Aldi currently sells Atlantic salmon for $9.09 per pound.
Pistachios
Whether you’re snacking on pistachios or using them as a topping or while cooking, they are a popular option at Aldi, as Catalano shared on The Kitchn. “Aldi makes it easy to splurge on the shelled variety when it’s just $4 per package,” she said.
The Southern Grove shelled pistachios cost $4.29 at Aldi.
