Shopping centre hell as firestarting Kilbarrack gang cause havoc during brutal incident

Dublin Fire Brigade has issued a stark warning after firefighters battled two separate waste fires in North Dublin.

A crew of firefighters from Phibsborough were called to a waste fire off the North Circular Road on Sunday evening.

The crew were able to extinguish the fire using a hose reel but following the incident, Dublin Fire Brigade warned Dubliners about the dangers of dumped waste.

Posting to their Twitter account, DFB said: "Waste is an easy target for opportunistic vandals.

"Report dumped waste to your local council."

In a separate incident in Kilbarrack on Sunday, firefighters battled another waste blaze next to a shopping centre.

The blaze started after waste next to a shopping centre was set alight. (@DubFireBrigade Twitter)

Dublin Fire Brigade warned that waste stored close to buildings is at risk of spreading fire inside.

They said: "Waste stored close to buildings create the risk of spread to inside the building in the event of fire.

"Waste should be securely stored away from buildings."
