Shoppers urged to stop using Ikea baby product after huge recall

Ikea is urgently recalling bibs amid fears loose buttons could cause children to choke.

A staggering 3,700 of the items were sold in the UK and the Swedish furniture giant has now told parents to stop using them immediately.

The much-loved brand operates multiple stores across the UK - with our nearest one in Eastville.

Parents have been warned to check if they've got a set of two bibs from Ikea, according to our sister paper Birmingham Live.

Affected bibs are part of Ikea's MATRVA range and come in a two-pack.

One is a blue bib with green lining around the edge and one is a red bib with yellow lining, with a product article number of 504.269.20.

The bibs were sold both in-store and online during August for £2.50.

In a statement on its website it said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding."

Ikea says everybody returning the item will be given a full refund - and you don't need proof of purchase.

For more information, you can contact Ikea on 0203 645 0010.
