Shoppers surprised as false eyelash vending machine arrives in Newcastle

We're all familiar with vending machines for things like crisps, sweets and fizzy drinks, but there's one just arrived in Newcastle that is for something a lot more unexpected.

You might have seen more unusual vending machines for things like toothpaste and mini shower-gels in hotel receptions or perhaps protein shake machines in gums but what if we told you that one selling false eyelashes has just arrived in town.

The pink vending machine has taken up residence in intu Eldon Square , just up from Millies Cookies and down from the barbers and cash points.

It is the brainchild of Tyneside business The Lash Loft and there are number of different styles to choose from.

Whether you're going for a more natural look or something rather dramatic, you'll be able to find a lash to suit your mood.

The Lash Loft is based in Great Park, and to get a better idea of the different lashes you can pick up from their vending machine, head to their website.

Varieties include Liberty, Lyla and Lola.

Contactless payments including Apple Pay are accepted as well as coins.

The Eldon Square vending machine is the second from Lash Loft, following on from one in intu Metrocentre.

And on their Instagram, the company teased that there is a third on the way.
