When it comes to putting things on your shopping list, doing your washing probably won't even enter your head, but that's exactly what you can now do at Morrisons in Cowgate.
And that's all because a 24 hour laundrette has arrived at the supermarket at Two Ball Lonnen on the outskirts of Newcastle city centre.
News of the unconventional new addition to the store was revealed on Facebook over the weekend, by the company responsible KIS Wash Laundry Solutions.
The price to do your laundry in the washing machines at Morrisons that can be used right around the clock is 8kg wash for £4, an 18kg wash for £8 and dry from only £2 per 15 minute cycle.
Opinions have been split on its arrival so far. While one excited person commented on the post saying "haha buzzing why did I bother buying a new dryer," others think the prices are a bit steep, with one shopper reacting "Like the idea but it's expensive could probably buy a quilt instead of washing it."
And regulars at Morrisons aren't convinced the laundrette is in the right place, with one writing "Maybe a good idea but it is placed in a stupid spot how will parents get past with their shopping & there will be idiots coming to steal washing while the owners shop."
Echoing those sentiments, someone else commented "Don’t like where it’s placed though. Now you’re gonna get even more d***s parking in the parent and toddler who don’t have a child with them, leaving people who need these spaces to struggle, we already have enough people do this as it is! Pet hate."
