Shoppers snap up £40 Argos heater that provides 'fantastic heat' and is 'cheap to run'

Argos shoppers have left rave reviews for a £40 heater that they say is great at heating up rooms without driving up their electricity bills.

With many households on the lookout for cost-effective ways to keep warm, finding a product that claims to do the trick and has left customers satisfied is certainly worth a try. If you're considering investing in an electric heater, halogen heaters have been recommended by many as a worthwhile option as they can heat up a room effectively while using far less energy than other types of heater.

The Beldray 1.2kW Halogen Heater from Argos is one of the best-reviewed heaters for its price on the market, and many shoppers who have snapped one up so far have convinced others to buy it in glowing reviews. The heater is rated at 4.3 stars out of five overall, with 82% of customers recommending the product and 631 people leaving five-star feedback.

"Love it," was one person's verdict. "Keeps me warm and it's cheap."

Another wrote: "I bought this heater as I didn’t want to heat the whole house when I’m working from home in one room, it’s ideal for heating only where is needed."

"I bought this and its instantly warm and bright," added a third shopper. "The best thing is it has three heat settings at 400kw each bar, I am very impressed."

Someone else said: "It's a great little product it takes the chill from any room, especially first thing . Cheap to run, light to move room to room."

Other happy customers praised the heater as "well worth the money", "lightweight", "easy to control" and "very good value". "Great little heater, gets the room very warm in minutes - good for the winter weather," one shopper wrote.

Before investing in a halogen heater, you should make sure it's the right choice for you and your home. Martin Lewis ' Money Saving Expert website explains: "Halogen heaters are directional. Once on, you instantly feel the heat. As soon as you turn them off, the heat quickly dissipates.

"Convection heaters, electric panel heaters or free-standing electric radiators work by heating the air around them to create a convection current. They take some time to heat a room, but once turned off the heat lingers."

The website adds: "Usually, it's best to use your central heating to heat your home rather than relying on electric heaters, especially if you have gas central heating, according to the Energy Saving Trust. If you're only using a couple of rooms, you can use thermostatic radiator valves so that your central heating isn't heating empty rooms. Electricity is much more expensive than gas, so using electric heaters can ramp up your energy bills."
