Shoppers slam Silverburn as they face huge queues out of multi-storey car park

Angry shoppers have taken to social media to vent their frustration as they attempt to exit the multi-storey car park at Silverburn Shopping Centre.

Members of the public who had been in to pick up some post-Christmas bargains have been responding to a tweet from the shopping centre, which noted: "We are currently experiencing large volumes of traffic trying to exit our multi-storey car park.

"Delays expected between 4-6pm - sorry for any inconvenience caused."

One shopper responded with: "We’re on the third floor. Moved three car lengths forward in the last 30 minutes. It’s a shambles."

Another said: "This is an absolute disgrace. It’s not new and you’ve learned nothing from past years.

"My daughter and two small, very upset children, have currently been sitting in their car for one hour!! Time to take this annual event very very seriously."

It's not the first time the shopping centre has come under fire for the queues to get out of the multi-storey car park, with customers experiencing delays at Christmas time last year due to the arrival of the Coca-cola truck - while in March of last year shoppers also complained about having to wait 'hours' to exit.
