Shoppers in Larkhall were shocked to see a car which appeared to have reversed straight into a back garden this afternoon.
Police tape surrounds the blue vehicle in the car park next to the Co-op.
It is understood the car reversed into a parking bay but continued into an adjacent garden and may have collided with another vehicle.
A police spokesperson confirmed to Lanarkshire Live that the incident was dealt with by officers on patrol and that the two drivers involved exchanged details after the mishap.
No reports of criminality were made.
Part of the car park beside Caledonian Road in Larkhall remains closed where officers have cordoned off several bays with police tape and traffic cones.
One shopper captured the image of the car while leaving the shop.
It shows the car hanging lopsided from the garden it seems to have reversed into, meanwhile parts of the wall appear to have been knocked down.
