Shoppers were lining Cardiff's Queen Street as early as 6am on Monday, December 27 to make the most of the sale.
Queues of bargain hunters trailed down the high street, patiently waiting for the Next store to open after its closure over the festive weekend.
Next bosses decided to close the store for its usual sale on the 26th, instead giving its staff the day off and starting the sale online only.

Face masks were handed out by staff in anticipation, and barriers were erected to keep those queuing in an orderly manner.
Queues have become more noticeable throughout Wales' high street since the re-introduction of Level Two restrictions from 6am Boxing Day.
A line of keen savers could be seen through the bottom of Queen Street, passing the Capitol building.
Many were wrapped up in thick coats, hats, and glves, anticipating a long wait ahead of the store opening at 6am.
A Next spokesperson told WalesOnline: "Our Sale starts online on Friday December 24th and our in-store sales starts on Monday December 27th at 6am, in the majority of our UK stores."
The store launched its online sale early, at 3pm on Christmas Eve, however, some couldn't resist the pull of the in-store bargains.
