Cadbury recently announced it would launch giant tins filled with Mini Eggs and Creme Eggs, but customers are shocked at what actually comes in the tin.
Shoppers rejoiced last week when the bargain tins hit store shelves , but have quickly found themselves disappointed upon discovering they were not filled to the brim with chocolate eggs.
It turns out, the Creme Egg tin contains eight Cadbury Creme Eggs and one 89g bag of mini Creme Eggs, while in the Mini Egg tins you'll find 10 treat size bags which weigh 32g each.
Shoppers haven’t taken the revelation lightly, with some claiming the tins are "absolutely disgusting".
One person said: “Just give us actual tins full of Mini Eggs! No packets, no tubes, I want to open that tin and dive right in.”
Another added: “Tin looks lovely but get probably a pounds worth of eggs in them, cheaper getting the pound tubes. More in them.”
“Bought a tin at Xmas - a few mini bags inside! So disappointed” said another.
One shopper pointed out the issue regarding packaging inside the tin and said: “Brilliant of Cadbury’s to introduce some more unnecessary packaging into our lives.”
Another advised shoppers not to bother buying the products, adding: “Nobody go out and buy these complete waste of money!!!!!! 10 small bags inside the tin 498g including the tin for £5 absolutely disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!”
Others disagreed and were excitedly sharing the news with friends and family, tagging each other on social media and even requesting the tins as an alternative to Easter eggs.
A spokesperson for Cadbury said: "The Cadbury Mini Egg tins contain ten Cadbury Mini Eggs bags, while Cadbury Creme Egg tins contain eight Cadbury Creme Eggs and one bag of Cadbury Creme Egg Mini Filled.
"The tins are designed to be a fun, reusable gift for bakers, who we know love to include our eggs in their recipes whether that’s a Cream Egg tray bake or a Mini Egg topped Easter sponge.
"The Cadbury Mini Eggs and Cadbury Creme Eggs are also kept in packets to avoid damage to the eggs."
