Shoppers loving Aldi's 'amazing' new chocolate treat alternative to an Easter egg

Shoppers are loving a new chocolate treat available in Aldi stores which is a great alternative to an Easter egg.

The new milkshake treats come in cookies and cream flavour or strawberries and cream, but there's a catch.

Their appearance has left some people puzzled because even though they look like indulgent milkshakes from the outside, they are in fact made entirely from chocolate.

The hollow milkshake shaped treat features a chocolate glass with 'milkshake' overflowing which is actually white chocolate and topped with a doughnut, mini eggs plus cookie crumbs on the cookie flavoured one and crunchy berry pieces on the strawberry one.

A picture of the tasty new confectionery was shared on the Newfoodsuk Facebook page and attracted more than 700 reactions and nearly 300 comments.

One person was confused about what they were: "Are they real milkshakes?"

A second commented: "Oh wow they look good."

And a third wrote: "On a hunt to find these."

Another mentioned a mate saying: "If you wanted to get me something for Easter..." and another person agreed: "Would be so cool for kids for Easter."

And another said: "This looks amazing."

The milkshake-shaped eggs are priced at £6.99 in Aldi.

Earlier this week, shoppers were obsessed with a £60 Aldi Specialbuy coffee table that looked 'way more expensive'.

Aldi remains open during lockdown and people are allowed to go shopping when needing to buy essential items including food and medicine.
