Shoppers howling over Tesco's back to school booze blunder

It's not unusual to see those 'back to school' signs emblazoned across supermarkets at this time of year.

It is, however, a little strange to see crates of beer for sale in the school section - but that's exactly what's happened at one Manchester store.

You can pick up Foster's, Stella Artois, San Miguel and more in the 'School Shop' at Tesco in Wythenshawe, much to the amusement of eagle-eyed shoppers.

A tweet including a photo of the booze display was shared by @Manc_Pictures and customers have been remarking on the schoolgirl error.

'Standard Wythenshawe' said one Twitter user, while another said 'Must be the teachers aisle, first week back'.

Tesco seemed unfazed by the error, replying with an emoji of head in hands and adding: "Oops. #EveryLittleHelps?"

To which @Manc_Pictures responded with: "When you're trying to get them asleep on a school night. Couple of beers will defo help."

The M.E.N has approached Tesco for a comment.
