Shoppers defend new Primark model as some take aim at 'distracting' tattoos

Despite the rain, Primark have been sharing their summer outfits over Instagram and one particular post has got shoppers riled up.

The fast-fashion giant posted a photo to Instagram showing off their new floral embellished dress (£13) and a quilted over the shoulder bag (£10) but people were quick to comment on the model’s tattoos, My London Reported.

Influencer Stefanie Lee (@stefaniexlee) is known for showing off her tattoos in her fashion posts on Instagram, as they cover her arms and legs with beautiful details.

But it soon became clear that not everyone is a fan of the tatts and it didn’t take long for the post to gather over 13k likes and 200 comments.

One person complained the tattoos were "taking attention away from the dress", and other people agreed, saying they "overshadowed" the look, or that they "can't really see the dress just a load of tattoos."

Others claimed that they weren’t even real: "Why use fake tats," complained someone else, who said it "looks stupid."

One shopper had a very important question" "Everyone's talking about the tattoos and I'm wondering why the chain is in front of her face???"

But Stefanie’s supporters and other shoppers quickly came to the defence. Interjecting: "Comments on here are a joke. It's ok for people who have tattoos to model clothes. I think the tatts make the dress look even better."

Another stood up for her and said: “Gorgeous, the whole look, tats included! Why be boring and bland? Absolutely rocking this look!”

While tattoos can sometimes be divisive, many praised Primark for including a someone with tattoos on their feed.

One said: "Dress is fab and look extra amazing with such an edgy cool tattooed model! well done @primark for using diverse models"

Another said: "finally women being accepted with tattoos @primark "

"Finally tattooed women being promoted on @primark profile and who better to have picked for it! Said a third.
