Shoppers confused by bikini that looks like cross between 'face mask and curtains'

When it comes to swim wear, we'll admit, we've seen some pretty bizarre trends - from the underboob bikini to see-through ones.

But shoppers online are currently having a field day over a two-piece swimming costume which they claim looks like a face mask.

Yes, the kind of face mask we've been wearing during the coronavirus pandemic.

As such, people have dubbed the bikini "pandemic chic" and whether or not it does actually look similar to a face covering, we'll leave for you to decide...

A photo of the swim wear was shared on the parody Instagram account, @asbos_sos.

The account shares items being sold by online retailer ASOS that made them ask: "ASOS, what were you thinking?"

Their most recent post features the strapless, black drawstring bikini with little flowers on.

They captioned it: "Public Service Announcement: Facemasks do not work below the nose."

Many liked the post and took the time to comment sharing their own thoughts on the look.

One person replied: "STAY ALERT."

Another said: "Even the model ain’t feeling it."

"CRYING at the caption. Also looks like a pair of curtains on like a narrowboat or something," wrote a third.

Someone else responded: "Pandemic chic."

Others suggested they looked like 'caravan curtains' or 'boob curtains'.

This isn't the first time an ASOS product has been mocked on social media.

A leather and chain skirt they were selling at the end of last year also left shoppers well and truly baffled.

The £65 skirt was called the 'Kikiriki chain detail cutout skirt with pu panel detail in metal'.

A picture of the skirt was shared on @asbos_sos where they compared it to a Halloween costume.

One person was less than impressed and said ASOS outfits just keep getting "worse and worse".

They commented: "Jesus Christ they get worse and worse."

Another user replied: "Looks a bit chilly for trick or treating..."
