Keen shoppers turned out in their droves in Irvine for the first Rivergate Market yesterday.
The niche market breathed new life into the town which is in need of a post-lockdown pick-me-up.
Vendors selling their wares were a bright sight for the shopping-starved public who were determined to show their support.
The most popular stall of the day had to be the Erincroft Bakery which had a few crumbs left on the table by lunchtime.
Brian from the bakery said: "It's been mental, they've completely cleared me out! A great day."
Rhona and Christina, from Designs on Dogs – a made-to-fit clothing boutique for pooches – said: "We've been so busy today. I think the market is a great thing because it saves a lot of guesswork from buying online. Lots of people have been bringing their dogs over so we can measure them for their jackets."

Glen from Glenwoodcraft said: "It's been a fantastic day. It's amazing to be back out again."
Alick McDonald from SWIG Ginger is looking forward to establishing his business in the town.
He said: "This is the first day and it does take time to establish the market but it's been a good day for it since there is no sign of rain."
Meanwhile, Dave, who operates the CBD stall, said: "It's been fantastic. I'm out here educating the public. It's a good thing this market started up, I was down to my last half million."
Patrons spent the day weaving between stalls while organisers dished out fried foods and sellers smiled and waved.

The smell of street food wafted throughout the market area while the stalls blocked the sad views of the shutters from closed-down stores which have bore the brunt of lockdown.
The new street market venture will be held on the second Friday of each month from 10am to 4pm with the next one scheduled for Friday, June 11.
