Shoppers can snap up 99p Money Saving Expert SIM deal to avoid extortionate mobile price hikes

Mobile phone users looking to get out of hefty contracts by switching to a SIM only deal can take advantage of a new 99p offer that's just launched.

Mobile provider Lebara has teamed up with the Money Saving Expert team to offer customers a SIM-only deal for less than the price of coffee, at 99p. Shoppers can snap up the 30-day SIM at a discounted rate for the first six months.

The normal cost of the SIM is £4.90 but for a limited time only, customers can get it for 99p, until April 25 at 11.59pm. The SIM comes with 3GB of 5G data, unlimited calls and texts in the UK and 100 international minutes to 42 countries.

It's a perfect deal for those who don't need a lot of data but make a lot of calls and texts over the course of a month. When shoppers buy the 30-day SIM, the plan will just refresh after 30 days and will continue to be 99p for six months, before the price reverts to £4.90 - but at this point, you could look for a cheaper SIM deal elsewhere.

Running on the Vodafone network, there is no credit check for shoppers wanting to get this SIM offer which also comes with free data roaming in the EU and India.

More than 1,200 people have already bought the SIM deal in the last 48 hours on the Lebara website via the HotUKDeals recommendation. The site currently has the SIM priced at £4.90 but when you click on 'buy now' the checkout shows the deal discounted to 99p, which is an exclusive offer through the Money Saving Expert site.

SIM deals are a much cheaper option and are a handy way to save if your mobile phone contract is coming to an end. If you don't want to lose your existing mobile number by getting a new SIM you can ask for a PAC code from your provider by texting 'PAC' to 65075 to begin the process.
