Shoppers beg Lidl to bring trainers to the UK after they sell on eBay for £150

Shoppers are once again cashing in on Lidl’s popular trainers and selling them online for as much as £150.

The trainers were in high demand back in July , with sellers listing the red, yellow and blue shoes online for 30 times their original price.

While the shoes were not available in the UK, shoppers were quick to find them on eBay - and now it’s happening again.

The bargain retailer has released a new range of Lidl-branded products, including trainers, socks, sliders and even a Christmas jumper, all in red, yellow and blue - and featuring the Lidl logo.

The products hit stores, including those in Italy and Northern Ireland, this week, and sellers have been quick to list them on eBay for much more than their original price.

The trainers, which are on sale in Northern Ireland for £12.99, are being sold on eBay for up to £150.

One seller is offering a bundle, including the Lidl trainers, socks and sliders, for £75, while another is selling the socks and trainers together for £100.

Fans of Lidl have been quick to share their thoughts on the latest products, with one person saying the prices on eBay were “crazy”.

Taking to Twitter, they said: “Lidl Trainers going for Crazy Prices on @eBay This has to be a sign of the Apocalypse. #Nostradamus 2020 Jesus Wept!”

Another said that Lidl’s Italian stores had “sold out” of the trainers, they wrote: “Italy home of fashionista and well dressed so I'm not sure what to do with the fact lidl italia sold out of their own branded and colour themed trainers”.

Others have been begging the retailer to bring the popular items to the UK. One wrote: “Lidl Hungary came out with Lidl branded sneakers, socks and slippers which sold out super quick - would love to buy them, will you ever sell them in the UK please”.

Another said: "@LidlGB it is 2:42am i will not rest until you tell me when the lidl socks and trainers are coming into stores".

The ECHO has asked Lidl if the products will be coming to the UK any time soon.
