If you love a carbonara or just a classic bolognese and have been struggling to stock up on pasta due to the Coronavirus panic buying situation - have no fear.
British shoppers have spotted a particularly saucy way to stock up on the coveted store cupboard item.
As previously reported on the Manchester Evening News, on deals sharing Facebook page Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, one shopper posted a discovery of Ann Summers penis-shaped pasta still in stock at one supermarket.
The member wrote" 3 for 2 Ann summer’s if anyone gets stuck".
The packs of penis-shaped pasta are on sale online for £5 each and are included in the Ann Summers sale, so you can currently buy two get, one free in the offer.
The official Ann Summers site description reads: "Our famous Penis pasta – it’s hysterical and completely delicious! Perfect for dinner parties, girls’ nights in or any occasion – whip up your favourite pasta dish and see if your guests notice..."
While it might not be suitable to give the kids for dinner and it isn't the cheapest pasta we've ever seen, the empty shelves of major supermarket chains may make stocking up on the phallic shaped food a necessity.
The Facebook post, which now has thousands of likes, instantly got a reaction with many comments replying to the original post.
One social media user joked: "Desperate times call for desperate measures."
"Imagine serving this to the kids!!" another added.
The tongue in cheek message comes as the Coronavirus has caused widespread stockpiling and panic buying at major supermarket chains.
Over the weekend Aldi was forced to restrict shoppers to four of each items in a bid to stop stockpilers clear the shelves.
British Retail Consortium members also sent a joint letter addressed to the public, urging everyone to work together to ensure there is enough food for the country amidst the Covid-19 outbreak in the UK.
