Shopper shares clip of game-changer trick to get Aldi till staff to slow down

It can feel like a race against time when faced with an Aldi checkout.

You can almost feel your produce screaming as you hurtle everything in bags as quickly as possible to keep up with lightning-fast checkout staff.

Others choose to stick with Aldi's preferred method, which is to just get everything back into the trolley and then use the packing bench to fill your bags and boxes in your own time.

You grumble under your breath once you get one as you pull out another squished banana but know fine well it's the compromise you make for seriously low prices.

But there are tips and tricks that shoppers have imployed, with some even plucking up the courage to ask till operators if they can slow done.

If this doesn't work then another shopper has shared his own genius suggestion that you might want to try, the Mirror reports.

A video of the so-called "life hack" has racked up tens of thousands of views on TikTok after it was posted by @ciaranelliottwalm.

While putting his shopping on the belt, he spreads it out so staff can't scan everything so quickly.

He explained: "Top tip: spread all your shopping out and it gives you time to bag it so they don't throw it at you."

Another added: "Very good, I'll use this next time."

A third commented: "This is the best life hack I've ever seen".

But some shoppers admitted they like the speed, while one supermarket worker said it wouldn't slow them down.

She commented: "Hahhaa people think this works, we'll just scan faster.
