Shopper's hilarious warning after blunder leaves him with one Brussels sprout for Christmas dinner

A man has warned shoppers after making a hilarious Christmas blunder when it came to his veggies.

Taking to social media, James Murden highlighted one of the major downfalls of online grocery shopping.

After ordering one Brussels sprout with the understanding it meant one bag, only a solitary sprout was delivered.

He wrote: "Please note: when ordering sprouts from @Tesco online, quantity 1 does not mean 1 bag of sprouts. It means 1 sprout. Thank you and good night."

Tesco have apologised for the misunderstanding, explaining that the issue has already been raised with the IT team.

A spokesperson wrote: "Hi James, I do apologise but our loose items are individual items that you can order to get the exact amount.

"Unfortunately, the way our system works, each individual loose item counts towards 1 item on the order. We've raised this with the IT team in the past."

They later added: "It'll be resolved in the near future. I apologise for the inconvenience caused."

However, James appeared to find the whole situation understandably hilarious as the tweet racked up over 45,000 likes.

Replying to Tesco, he indicated his Christmas was to become a sort of dystopian rationing nightmare, writing:

"Haha it’s all good, just need to decide which family member deserves a sprout for Christmas, decisions decisions!"
