Shopper gets supermarket ban after becoming aggressive over baked beans

Police officers had to eject a customer from a Nottingham supermarket after staff refused him large quantities of his favourite baked beans.

Nottinghamshire Police have issued a warning to shoppers to 'respect those who are simply doing their job' after they were called to the store on Saturday, March 21.

The store and location has not been revealed but the incident was announced by police officers working in the Arboretum.

A spokesman for the force said: "Emergency response officers have today been requested to attend a supermarket on their area after reports of a customer becoming aggressive towards the staff there who refused to sell them bulk quantities of a favourite tinned food.

"As a result the customer was ejected from the store with no shopping and advised not to return.

"Please during these unique times, respect those who are simply doing their job, and your fellow community members who all also need food."

The Government has called on people to stop stock piling as supermarket shelves remain bare.

Supermarkets have also put in measures to ensure customers can't buy lots of one item so there is enough stock on the shelves to go around during the coronavirus pandemic.
