Shopper at UK Tesco spotted in full hazmat suit and gas mask buying loaf of bread

As coronavirus cases increase in the UK - it seems like one customer wasn't taking any chances during their weekly shop.

Ethan Mees was going about his day when he spotted a person wearing a full hazmat suit at a Tesco store.

The well-protected person was said to be bulk buying food and was seen perusing the meat aisle.

Pictures show the person wearing a turquoise suit, shoe covers, latex gloves and a large black gas mask in the Yeovil store, reports Somerset Live.

Mr Mees, who was shopping with his father Jeremy at the time, says he saw the person at the superstore on Queensway Place at around 11am today (March 13).

Mr Mees said: "Everyone in the shop was looking at him.

"I was shocked and so were a lot of people and the staff.

"It looked like a loaf of bread, three packs of mince beef and some sort of meat joint in his hand.

"I was with my dad just shopping and spotted the man dressed in an all in one suit, rubber shoe covers, gloves and a mask."

Today's rise in confirmed cases in the UK from 590 to 798 is the largest day-on-day increase since the outbreak began.

It is a jump of 208, which is 35% up on the equivalent figure for Thursday.
