Shoplifter who admitted stealing from stores in Newmains and Motherwell is placed on supervision

A shoplifter has been put under supervision after being convicted of nicking goods from two stores in Newmains and Motherwell.

Lee Walker appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week for sentencing having pleaded guilty to the offences back in July.

On September 29, 2018, Walker, while acting with another person, stole alcohol from the Asda superstore in Morningside Road, Newmains.

The 44-year-old, of Silverburn Crescent, Newarthill, was also convicted of stealing electronic items from the B&M Store in Motherwell’s Brandon Parade South.

In court this week, Walker was handed a 12-month community payback order with a supervision requirement.
