Scared shopkeeper terrorised by yobs who make his life a 'living nightmare'

A local shopkeeper has opened up about his living nightmare being faced with abuse from yobs every day.

Residents and businesses around Huyton Village are now desperately hoping for change after a dispersal order was put in place.

A local newsagent, who did not wish to be named, told the ECHO how over the last few months, he has suffered greatly at the hands of these yobs.

From smashing windows with rocks to throwing eggs inside the store, he said he is often left feeling scared and worried about what he will be faced with next.

The police have said the youths are reported to have also caused "harassment, alarm, and distress to the community."

Dad of two collapsed 'without warning' moments after finishing shift

A dad of two collapsed without warning moments after finishing his shift.

Garry Rowland, from Ellesmere Port, had just finished counting votes for the 2019 general election count when he fell to the ground.

The 68-year-old said if it wasn't for an off-duty nurse was at Ellesmere Port Sports Village on Friday, December 13 using a defibrillator he wouldn't be alive today.

Garry, from Great Sutton, said: "There was nothing to indicate that I would have a cardiac arrest – I felt no sign of any pain."

He has been telling his story to highlight the importance of defibrillators and urging public access defibrillator owners in the North West of England to register their devices on a new national database, called The Circuit.

River of Light Liverpool 2021: Map of route, dates and things to see

The River of Light trail along Liverpool's waterfront opens to the public today.

The theme of this year’s outdoor illuminated trail is Rhythm of the Light with each artwork inspired by the relationship between the city, music and light.

The event showcases 12 installations created by local, national and international artists.

Each evening over the next 17 nights you can walk along the 2km River of Light trail and see the 12 stunning installations that can be found along the route from a variety of artists.
