Shopkeeper robbed twice in three days by the same people

A shopkeeper was targeted twice in just three days by the same robbers.

The worker, at Miller News newsagents on Milton Road, Widnes, was first hit by the thugs at 6pm on Friday, July 15. The two men went into the shop and were acting suspiciously.

When asked to leave by the shopkeeper, the two suspects then hit and pushed him behind the counter. They then stole vapes and cigarettes and ran from the shop.

The second incident happened two days later, on Sunday, July 17, when the same men entered the store at around 2.45pm. This time the pair threatened the shopkeeper with a knife before stealing alcohol and food.

Detectives have described the first suspect as a white man, in his late teens, with red hair and a slight beard. He was wearing a black jacket.

The second suspect is also described as a white man, in his late teens, he had blonde hair and was wearing a black jacket with a fur hood. Enquiries in relation to the incidents are ongoing and officers are asking to hear from anymore who witnessed the incidents or anyone with any information which may aid their investigation.

Detective Sergeant Henderson Pierre said: "The investigation in relation to these incidents is ongoing and we are determined to do all that we can to identify the men responsible. Nobody deserves to be a victim of robbery, let alone to be targeted twice in just three days by the same offenders.

"While the shopkeeper did not sustain any serious injuries as a result of the incident, they were left shaken as a result of their ordeals. I urge anyone who believes they have any information which may aid our investigation to get in touch with us via 101.

"Alternatively, if you don’t want to speak to us directly, information can also be reported anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101, or visit https://www.cheshire.police.uk/police-forces/cheshire-constabulary/areas/cheshire/about-us/about-us/provide-more-information-about-an-appeal/ quoting IML 1318011."
