Shop worker in Barrhead threatened with knife in terrifying morning raid

A shop worker was left terrified after being threatened with a knife during a morning raid in Barrhead.

The 25-year-old was working at the Premier Store shop on Cross Arthurlie Street when two thugs entered at 9.25am this morning.

Both men threatened the worker with a blade before making off with a number of stolen items.

Police are now appealing for information that could help officers in their investigations.

Both suspects have been described as white, in their early 30s and approximately 5’10” in height.

One of the men was wearing a blue jacket with a white zip, black under armour trousers and grey Nike Air Max trainers.

The other also wore a blue jumper, but with a black hood, black Adidas jogging bottoms and black Nike trainers at the time of the incident.

Constable Kirstie Black from Police Scotland said: “This has been a terrifying ordeal for the man involved.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who has any information or any dash cam footage from the area at the time, to contact us via 101 quoting incident number 1007 of 3 January 2021, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
