Shop tells customers to stop paying with ‘sweaty’ cash stored in bras during heatwave

A businessman is taking a stand against unorthodox cash-carrying habits as the scorching weather continues.

Bedding salesman Michael Flynn - better known as Mattress Mick -issued the unexpected notice on Facebook.

It seems the rise in temperatures, combined with many woman's outfits not including pockets, has caused some issues.

The Dublin legend left people in stitches as he said the store wouldn't accept cash that had been stored in customer's bras.

The bedding mogul and reality star advised shoppers to keep their dosh in their purse or handbag, rather than in their underwear, DublinLive noted.

Seems a reasonable request - how many retail workers want to accept the sweat-soaked money, after all?

The note said: “NO BRA MONEY. Due to increasing temperatures, and for our own personal safety, we will NOT be accepting any bra money. Sorry for any inconvenience."

Mr Flynn added: "An URGENT alert in our Coolock store.

"Due to [the] soaring heat wave across Dublin and ongoing safe trading with social distancing, we would urge all customers not to pay us from their bras and keep your euro notes in your purse or handbag at all times.

"Yours, Mattress Mick."

Customers seemed to take it well, although one baffled woman asked: "Sure who’d be wearing a bra in this weather?"

Another disagreed, writing: "Personal Safety"! That's hilariously ridiculous. What do you think the € euro notes are gonna do to you...jump up and bite you on the neck.

"They aren't going to attack you. Chill."

Another commented: "Are you serious you clown. You don't wanna make money at all."

A third added: "It's all money at the end of the day...I don't think you care that much as long as you are making an enormous profit."
