Shop staff threatened during attempted robbery bid in Glasgow south side

Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery at a shop on Clarkston Road.

The incident happened shortly before 11.55am on Saturday, 27 November.

A man threatened a member of staff at the checkout before attempting to gain access to the till.

He left the shop on foot empty handed. The male member of staff was checked by the ambulance service at the scene and there were no casualties or injuries.

The suspect is described as being white, in his mid-twenties and wearing a green and white tracksuit.

Constable Sarah-Lee MacFarlane of the Greater Glasgow Community Investigation Unit said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may be able to help to get in touch.

“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage from the area.

“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 1814 of 27 November, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
