Shop staff threatened by balaclava-clad robber

Police are hunting a man who threatened staff at a convenience store before stealing cash from the till.

The robbery took place at the Nisa store on Caereithin Cross in Ravenhill, Swansea, just before 9pm on Friday.

Police said the man threatened staff before forcing open the store till, snatching a quantity of cash, and then riding away on a bicycle towards Heol Gruffydd.

The suspect made-off on a bicycle following the raid.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time - or who has information on the identity of the man - to come forward.

Officers have issued a description of a man they want to trace - he is described as around 5ft 8in tall and "heavily" built, and was wearing a balaclava, black hooded coat, grey jogging bottoms, and white trainers.

A South Wales Police spokeswoman said: "Detectives in Swansea are appealing for information following a robbery at a Nisa store.

"Officers were called to the shop on Ravenhill Road at approximately 9pm on Friday night after a man reportedly threatened staff, forced the till open and stole the cash from within.

"Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw anyone who acting suspiciously prior to, or following, the incident. Anyone who believes they saw the suspect fleeing the scene is also asked to contact us."
