Shop roof partially collapses after three-car pileup at Ballincollig Shopping Centre, Co Cork

Emergency services are at the scene after the partial collapse of a building in Ballincollig due to a multi-car crash.

Three cars are believed to have been involved in the collision outside Quish's Supervalu in the car park area.

A vehicle collided with the building where the Great Wall takeaway and Paddy Power bookmakers are situated with the roof slumping as a result, Cork Beo reports.

One person has been treated at the scene of the crash but their injuries are not believed to be serious.

Cork City Fire Brigade are asking people to avoid the area until the scene is made safe.

An eyewitness told CorkBeo: "An elderly lady accelerated at speed whilst taking the corner and speed into the moving traffic.

"Crashed into the pillar and a car, causing a three-car pile up."

Works are currently underway to make the area safe.
