Shop London: Advice on motherhood and life after lockdown from our panel of experts

Shop London

To say that the last year or so has been stressful may just be the understatement of the century - but especially so for new mums.

Being pregnant and indeed giving birth in a global pandemic is on no one’s checklist when they take the plunge into parenthood.

From hospital visits without your partner and the extra stress of the birthing process due to regulations, to once your bundle of joy arrives but you’re left isolated because of social distancing, it’s a bewildering experience at the best of times but particularly over the last 12-odd months.

As part of our Shop London event to support small businesses, we are hosting a series of talks, workshops and activities as well as offering exclusive discount codes on 180 brands - many of which are baby and child brands; a godsend to new parents everywhere.

To discuss all things motherhood, we have called upon three experts to share their pearls of wisdom for life during and after lockdown and even a few beauty and fitness tips too.

Michelle Kennedy is the CEO of Peanut - a networking app for mums. As the former Director of Bumble, Michelle founded the social platform to bring parents together and help create a community and support system. It’s a safe space for mothers at all stages feeling isolated by parenthood to get advice, build friendships and learn from like-minded women.

Kyra White co-founded Oh Mumma to make life as a new mother that much easier through beauty and wellness boxes. Advocating for the power of self-care, there’s a bumper pack for pregnancy, hospital bags and even a new mother survival kit. Top tip: they make great baby shower gifts!

To round off our panel, MAMAWELL founder Rosie Stockley is a pre and post natal fitness expert. Rosie offers a resource for pregnancy and beyond with fun, upbeat sessions to help you achieve your fitness goals at your own pace.

Re-emerging into the world with a newborn in tow may be tough but with the advice from our panel, we hope to make it a little bit easier.
