A shooting Saturday left a 26-year-old man wounded and a 14-year-old boy in critical condition in Gresham on the South Side.

About 5:55 p.m., they were walking westbound on 87th Street when someone approached them from behind in the 8600 block of South Elizabeth Street and fired shots, Chicago police said.

The 14-year-old boy was struck multiple times in the chest and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said. The 26-year-old was struck in the buttock and was taken to the same hospital in good condition.

Area South detectives are investigating the shooting.
